Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, the last installment of the hit franchise that began in 2008 with Iron Man, earned the highest-grossing opening worldwide in April this year (2019). However, it is still lagging behind the all-time highest grosser, Avatar, which released in 2009.

As per the worldwide box office collections, Endgame (directed by Russo Brothers) was stuck for a long time at $2.73 billion. It has only recently crossed the $2.74 billion mark. However, it is still $46 million away from the worldwide box office collection of the film Avatar which was directed by James Cameron This is also surprising since the superhero film boasts of stars is Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson and Mark Ruffalo who played the most loved characters of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Captain Marvel and The Hulk respectively. The reason behind this could be the release of more movies by Disney and other big production houses this summer, whereas Avatar had a clear Christmas edge for its release.

Avengers: Endgame was the sequel of 2018’s highest-grossing movie Avengers: Infinity War. Let’s see if the Marvel fans help Endgame to become the world’s highest grossing film ever by crossing the mark set by Avatar. For more news and updates, stay tuned to CineBlitz.
