# Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Prabhas and Rana Daggubati’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was a Telugu film dubbed in Hindi, but it became the highest grosser of all time in India. The hype around the film courtesy the super success of its prequel, Baahubali: The Beginning and the fact that everyone wanted to know the answer to the question of the decade – ‘Why did Kattapa kill Baahubali?’, made everyone flock to the theatres to watch the film, thus enabling SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus to rake in a huge amount and become the first Indian film to earn in excess of Rs 500 crore through its Hindi version.

Aamir Khan’s inspirational sports drama of a real-life wrestler and his daughters – who go on to become India’s first world-class female wrestlers – won everyone’s hearts. Not only did Dangal’s story inspire many across the world, but the screenplay and performances made it a definite watch with great repeat value, allowing it to collect Rs 387.38 crore at the domestic box office.

The uncut biopic on the life of a Bollywood star like Sanjay Dutt had already created a huge buzz. But an interesting storyline along with a brilliant performance by Ranbir Kapoor meant that the movie-goers were bowled by Sanju. A strong word-of-mouth publicity furthermore enabled it to rake in Rs 342.53 crore at the box office.

Aamir Khan’s PK was the first film to enter the coveted Rs 300 crore club and it was all because of the actor’s class act, the novel storyline revolving around an alien and his trysts with the cultural dogmas in India along with a really good screenplay that enabled the film to earn such a huge amount of money when it released in 2014.

The action-packed sequel to the superhit film, Ek Tha Tiger, this Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer caught the fancy of cinema-lovers. The fact that everyone wanted to know what happened to Tiger (Salman) and Zoya (Katrina) after Ek Tha Tiger made people flock to the theatres. The hard-hitting and emotional plot also connected with the audience, making it run in cinemas for several week and rake in the moolah.

Salman Khan’s heart-warming film about a mute girl lost in India and Bajrangi’s struggle to help her get back home in Pakistan pulled the heartstrings of many. The performances, music and the engaging story made it a sure shot blockbuster.

The third edition of the hit Dhoom franchise starring Aamir Khan in a double role and Katrina Kaif was reason enough for it to be a huge hit and that’s what happened. The interesting plot twists and the screenplay really kept the audience at the edge of their seats, enabling it to rake in the moolah.
# Krrish 3
Lifetime box office collection: Rs 244.92 crore
Though the third part of the Koi Mil Gaya/Krrish franchise wasn’t such an intriguing and entertaining film, but the fact that it was a new movie in the franchise made it rake in the money. In fact, the subject was really good on paper, but had the execution been better, we are sure, Krrish 3 could have even made Rs 300 crore plus.
