# PK

Kesari box office collection: Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s film will take a massive opening on day 1, predicts our trade expert

kesari box office collection day 1 akshay kumar parineeti chopra

Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari is all set to release tomorrow (April 21). Being Holi, the movie will enjoy a partial holiday on the first day. In fact, with a huge buzz around the movie, everyone’s been eager to watch the movie too. So clearly, all these factors would enable it to earn a massive amount at the box office, around Rs 20 crore. And our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) also agrees with us. In fact, he says that Holi might be a disadvantage, but still the movie will open well.

Talking about Kesari‘s buzz, Akshaye reveals to us exclusively, “It looks really good. Going by the traction, despite the holiday disadvantage (several theatres open only post 2 pm), it will open to good numbers. It can easily rake in Rs 13 – 15 crore at the box office. Maybe even more. The buzz and reports are fantastic. So it will perform very well.” With 3500 screens at its disposal, we are sure Kesari will grow and rake in over the first weekend. And with no competition, though it clashes with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, it will earn a huge amount and post a huge profit at the box office!

Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari chronicles the Battle of Sargarhi (1897). It speaks about the valor and bravery of 21 Sikh soldiers who fought a massive battle with more than 10000 Afghan invaders. How they tried to protect Fort Sargarhi and the back story of their leader – Havildar Ishar Singh (Akshay Kumar) forms the most of the story. How excited are you about this one? Share with us your thoughts about Kesari in the comments section below! Also stay tuned to CineBlitz for more Bollywood news, updates and gossip!

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota box office collection prediction: Radhika – Abhimanyu’s film will earn Rs 1 crore on day 1

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota box office collection: Radhika Madan – Abhimanyu Dassani’s film will take a slow start on the first day, predicts our trade expert

Published at

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, starring Radhika Madan and Abhimanyu Dassani, is one of the most exciting films of the year. However, with it being Abhimanyu’s debut movie and Radhika’s second, expectations at the box office should not be kept high. In fact, with a low buzz in the trade means that it might not set the box office on fire with the numbers. But it can surely win hearts! Our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) also feels the movie will take a slow start. But it will surely, grow over the weekend.

Talking about the buzz, Akshaye Rathi revealed to us exclusively, “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota is interesting in its niche place. With Kesari coming along, which a huge bulk of people are going to watch, will affect it. However, the movies don’t cater to the same audience. While Kesari is massy, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota caters to the urban, cream audience. The markets are different too. But with a niche release, it will take a slow start.” With 400 – 500 screens to its credit and a low buzz, Akshaye says it is tough to predict the movie’s day 1 collection. However, trade sources reveal to us that it can earn Rs 0.75 – 1 crore on the opening day.

Directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota will also face opposition from Akshay Kumar’s Kesari. However, we are sure the story will win the audience over. For those of you who don’t now, the film is about a man who doesn’t feel any pain. Our reviewer – Aakanksha Naval-Shetye says it is a must-watch. This positive word-of-mouth publicity will surely help the film.

alia bhatt ranbir kapoor clash rrr versus shamshera

While lovebirds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are celebrating her 26th birthday today, seems like they might have a clash in the future. Well, not on personal grounds but we are talking about one at the box office! Yes, it is going to Alia Bhatt v/s Ranbir Kapoor as RRR will clash with Shamshera at the box office in 2020. Don’t believe us? Check out the release date of both the movies. Yash Raj Film’s Shamshera was announced last year. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, the movie was scheduled to release on July 31, 2020. Yesterday (March 14), SS Rajamouli and team announced that Alia Bhatt was a part of his next, RRR. Also starring Ajay Devgn, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, the makers decided for July 31, 2020, for the south film’s release too!

This clearly means the two lovers, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have a mega box office clash up their sleeves. While RRR is a Telugu film about two legendary warriors, Shamshera is a Hindi action-adventure movie about a dacoit tribe taking their revenge from the Britishers in the 1800s. Both this period dramas are being made on a large scale. While Ranbir has already kick-started his shoot, Alia will join SS Rajamouli and team pretty soon. We wonder what will happen when these two will collide at the box office.

Watch the Shamshera teaser here:

Though two films can easily sustain at the box office, we feel either of them will surely shift. This is because of the fact that the genres are nearly similar and both are massive movies. Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt are working together on Brahmastra. The part 1 of the trilogy is all set to release during Christmas this year. In the meantime, stay tuned to CineBlitz for more news and updates about RRR and Shamshera‘s clash.
