It was a double celebration for Salman Khan fans as Salman Khan’s film released on Eid (June 5). The film Bharat picked up really well and people have been praising the film a lot. Insiders have been touting the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial as a sure-shot, and it looks like the occasion of Eid is also working in favour of the Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat. But did it make Salman’s Eid special as well? Let’s find out how much theatre occupancy did the film get on its first day!

We got in touch with film-exhibitor Akshaye Rathi who had earlier predicted that Salman Khan’s film would earn around Rs 35 crores on day one. He exclusively told CineBlitz, “The film is bound to be terrific. The film will manage to register an opening occupancy of 60 – 70 per cent. The only hindrances might be the fact that it is a weekday, and the India-South Africa World Cup match on the same day.” But we are certain that nothing will affect the Salman Khan film’s overall business.

Bharat is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Alvira Agnihotri, Atul Agnihotri, Krishan Kumar under the banners of T-Series, Reel Life Productions and Salman Khan Films. Bharat released today on June 5. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates on Bharat and other Bollywood news
