Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is all set to clash with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray. The two movies have set up a box office battle over this Republic Day weekend (January 25). And while we are keen to see both of them, we also want to know which one will emerge triumphant? Will it be Manikarnika or Thackeray? The fact that both of them are biopics of revolutionary Indian leaders has got everyone excited, including us! The buzz around both the film seems high, but looks like Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi will be the one taking a massive opening at the ticket window. Thackeray, on the other hand, will start off slowly at the domestic box office.

It’s not us, but the box office trackings that reveal this to us! Super Cinema’s forecasts and predictions are generally bang on and their latest update have left us stunned. According to them, Manikarnika will open to a day 1 collection of Rs 13 – 15 crore, which is massive for such a film, that too on a non-holiday Friday. Obviously, with Republic Day on the next day, there will be a major spike and it will end up with a massive first weekend collection. Thackeray, on the other hand, will only be able to rake in Rs 2.75 – 3.50 crore. Yes, it will benefit from the January 26 holiday, but the opening weekend collections won’t be massive.

Clearly, Kangana’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi will trump Nawazuddin’s Thackeray at the domestic box office. But, what do you guys have to say about this?
