We revealed to you how Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Nawazuddin Siddique’s Thackeray took off at the box office. While the former has taken a decent start, the latter has been slow off the blocks. However, we hear that both the movies have got decent reviews from the public. And with that, Manikarnika and Thackeray will surely see an increased number of footfalls in the evening and late night shows. This will allow both the movies to rake in the moolah. But how much will they rake in? To know that and more, we spoke to our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor).

Talking to Cine Blitz exclusively, Akshaye informs, “Thackeray has started off slow across pan-India. Though the occupancy is 40 per cent in Maharashtra, it is just 10 per cent pan-India. And so, I think Thackeray will rake in Rs 2 – 3 crore on day one. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, on the other hand, has taken a good start. It has held a 35 – 40 per cent occupancy. It will easily earn in excess of Rs 10 crore at the domestic box office.” This is lower than what was anticipated, but with tomorrow being Republic Day, we are sure that both the films will see fantastic upward trends!

Kangana Ranaut’s Mankarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray were two of the most anticipated films of the year. And looks like they have performed decently. We expect both of them to score well over the first weekend, with Manikarnika coming out on the top! But how will they sustain next week? That’s something we will have to wait and watch. In the meantime, share with us your review of Manikarnika and Thackeray in the comments section below! Also stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you all the dope and updates about both the films right here.
