Sonam Kapoor’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has hit the screens and it is winning hearts. Be it the critics or the people who have seen the movie, everyone’s showered praises. However, all this love, hasn’t been able to transform into box office collections. The majority of the film’s audience was working on Friday and the word of mouth publicity also kicked in late. So Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga could only garner Rs 3.30 crore at the box office on day 1. Though this is a decent amount, it is lesser than what Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike managed on its fourth Friday.

Yes, Uri managed to rake in Rs 3.36 crore on day 22. As we all know, by the fourth week, films generally start wearing off. But Uri: The Surgical Strike is going strong and even with half the screens of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, it has outperformed it! A four week old movie beating a new release on day one is surprising. And we will closely keep a watch on how these two releases pan over weekend. We sure hope the Sonam Kapoor-starrer sees a growth over the weekend or sustaining at the box office will be an issue!

In the meantime, Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike is all set to breach the Rs 175 crore mark at the box office. Made on a budget of around Rs 25 crore, this one is going to surely be one of the most profitable films of the year. But can it enter the Rs 200 crore club at the domestic box office? Well, that’s something we will have to wait and watch. In the meantime stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you updates about Bollywood right here.
