Gully Boy box office collection day 2: Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt’s film sees a dip; rakes in Rs 32.50 crore

Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, took a fantastic start at the box office on day 1. The film had a huge buzz and releasing in 3000 screens, we were sure it would rake in a huge amount on the opening day. And that’s what happened! The movie raked in Rs 19.40 crore, giving Gully Boy the start it deserved. However, on day 2, it saw a dip. But fear not, being a working Friday, we had expected the film to see a downward trend at the ticket window. The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer collected Rs 13.10 crore on day 2 at the box office, taking its overall tally to Rs 32.50 crore! Clearly, the film is performing well!

With the weekend kicking in, we are Gully Boy will see an upward trend and growth on day 3 (Saturday) and day 4 (Sunday). Our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) also believes that the movie will rake in the moolah over the extended 4-day weekend. He predicts that Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy will collect around about Rs 75 crore over the opening weekend. Which is huge! Right? In fact, made on a budget of Rs 30 – 40 crore, Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt’s film will already be in profit!

Meanwhile, the movie going audience is continuing to rave about Gully Boy. From critics to the public, everyone has loved the film.
