Alia Bhatt’s Kalank was one of the most exciting films of the year. With so much hype and buzz, the movie took an amazing start at the box office. It grew courtesy the fabulous word of mouth publicity. And with 4000 screens at its disposal, Kalank raked in Rs 21.60 crore at the box office on day 1. This is not only makes it the highest box office opener of 2019, but also Alia Bhatt’s highest box office opener till date!
Yes, Kalank beat Gully Boy to become Alia Bhatt’s biggest opener so far! If you look at the opening day collections of all her releases till date, you will realise what we are talking about. Kalank (Rs 21.60 crore) lead the way, with Gully Boy (Rs 19.40 crore) and Shaandaar (Rs 13.40 crore) following suit.
