Kesari box office collection day 1: Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s film collects Rs 22 crore, as per early estimates

Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari released yesterday (March 21, Holi). And it took a flying start! Though the opening occupancy in the morning shows were decent as everyone across India celebrated Holi, it took a phenomenal leap by the evening and late night shows. This enabled Kesari to rake in a huge amount at the box office. While the official figures are yet to come in, we hear that Kesari‘s box office collection for day 1 has been Rs 22 crore, according to early trade estimates. Considering that it was a partial holiday and half the day, the occupancy was fantastic!

Kesari had a massive buzz before release. It got very good reviews from the critics too. The people who saw the morning shows were raving about it, tempting others to go watch it. Everyone has loved the direction, the action sequences and the brave historical chapter. Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s characters are being showered with love and their performances have been praised. All this has led to a tremendous word-of-mouth publicity to build. And in turn enabled Kesari to earn such a massive amount at the box office! In fact, we had predicted that the movie will rake in Rs 20 crore one day 1 and looks like we are in the same ball park range!

With today being a working Friday (March 22), we expect Anurag Singh’s directorial to witness a slight dip. But owing to the phenomenal word-of-mouth publicity, we are sure it will rake in growth over the weekend and post an incredible figure at the box office.
