Kesari box office collection day 2: Akshay – Parineeti’s film sees a dip; earns Rs 37.76 crore

Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari set the box office on fire after hitting the screens on Holi (March 23). Being a partial holiday, the movie raked in a massive Rs 21.50 crore on day 1 (Thursday). Yesterday (March 24), being a holiday, the movie saw a dip. It collected Rs 16.70 crore, taking its overall box office tally to Rs 37.76 crore in two days. This is fantastic, considering Holi was a partial holiday and day 2 was a working Friday. Hence, no one has to worry. In fact, with the film getting such good reviews, Kesari will surely witness an upward trend over the weekend and end it on a high!

Kesari has released in 3000 plus screens and had a huge pre-release buzz. It has got some fantastic reviews from the critics as well as the public. In fact, the people have been raving about the brave story, the direction and much more. Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s performances and characters are being showered with love too. With so much positivity around the movie, we are sure it is going to have a fabulous run at the box office. But it remains to be seen how much can it rake in over the opening weekend? Our bet is on Rs 75 – 80 crore! What is yours?

Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari chronicles the brave Battle of Saragarhi. 21 Sikh soldiers fought against 10000 Afghani tribesmen. And while they lost, their bravery and valient stand broke down the Afghan invasion. It has been produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Sunir Kheterpal.
