Kesari box office collection day 4: Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s movie has a phenomenal opening weekend

Kesari, starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, has been in the news ever since it was announced. It was one of the most-anticipated films and as it released, it took over the box office! The movie opened with a fantastic box office collection of Rs 21.06 crore on Holi (March 21, day 1). It saw a dip on day 2 as it was a working Friday, collecting Rs 16.75 crore at the ticket window. On day 3, Kesari again saw an upward trend, raking in Rs 18.75 crore. However, it was Sunday, when the historical did the best business, as it earned Rs 21.51 crore. With that, Kesari ended the first weekend on a high note, with Rs 78.07 crore in its kitty.
All this has been possible courtesy the tremendous word-of-mouth publicity. Kesari already had a massive buzz and it was released in 3,000 plus screens. So it was always going to rake in the moolah. But collecting Rs 75 crore plus in four days, especially with a couple of working days in between, is fabulous! Everyone has been impressed with the movie, its story and Akshay Kumar – Parineeti Chopra’s performances. They have been raving about it, making everyone curious to watch the movie. The critics have also praised the movie. Such positivity enabled Kesari to rake in such a huge amount at the box office in its opening weekend.

For those of you who don’t know, Kesari has been directed by Anurag Singh. It speaks about the bravery and valour of 21 Sikh soldiers as they battled against 10,000 Afghani tribesmen in the Battle of Saragarhi (1897). The battle might have been lost, but they stopped the Afghan invasion. If you haven’t watched it, you should.
