Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari has been breaking records at the box office. However, in its first week, it did slow down too, in terms of collections as well as footfalls. On the second Friday, day 9, Kesari slipped further, raking in just Rs 4.45 crore at the box office. And with that, the total tally of Kesari now stands at Rs 110.31 crore. Though this is a decent amount of collection, the dip might leave the makers worried. In fact, with no competition in the form of a mega-release at the box office, we had expected it to hold fort.
However, with Notebook and Junglee not able to impress the audience or set the box office on fire with their collections, we expect Kesari to benefit. In fact, there is still a good word-of-mouth publicity happening for the movie. Everyone is raving about the brave story, the tremendous performances by Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra as well as the insane action sequences. This positivity will help the movie grow over the weekend. In fact, from what we figure, Zaheer Iqbal – Pranutan Bahl’s Notebook as well as Vidyut Jammwal’s Junglee won’t be able to compete with Kesari at the box office.

Looking at the current trend, the Anurag Singh-directorial should rake in Rs 125 crore plus at the domestic market. It remains to be seen how much money will it be able to rake in by the end of its lifetime run. In the meantime, what do you have to say about Kesari?
