2018 had several interesting films hitting the big screens. From big budget films like Padmaavat, 2.0, Thugs of Hindostan, Race 3, Zero to content-oriented and entertaining films like Sanju, Simmba, Stree, among others, we saw a wide range of films and cinema-lovers flocked to the theatres. However, while, several big-ticket films fell, there were movies high on content that did well. But which is the highest grosser of 2018 at the domestic box office in their lifetime run? And where does each film stand in the list of top 10? To know that and more, we analysed the box office collections of the year gone by and here’s what we saw…
Sanju leads the way and is the highest lifetime grosser of 2018 with a domestic box office collection of Rs 342.53 crore. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project, Padmaavat is the runner up, with Simmba taking the third podium spot. 2.0, Race 3, Baaghi 2, Thugs of Hindostan, Badhaai Ho, Stree and Raazi make up the rest of the top 10, but where do they stand in comparison to each other? Though we see several big ticket movies as a part of this list, it’s crucial to note that small budget, content-oriented films like Raazi, Stree and Badhaai Ho have also made it into this list, clearly proving that the audience will go to watch a film and give you an amazing return if you make a good movie.
