Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria’s Student of the Year 2 released yesterday (May 10). We revealed to you how the movie took a decent start at the box office. We also mentioned to you our day 1 collection prediction. And looks like we were in the same ballpark! We say this because Student of the Year 2 raked in Rs 12.06 crore on day 1. Though this is not huge, it is decent for the movie. Considering that it had 2,400 plus screens and a medium buzz, the movie has done well.
In fact, it has outperformed Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra’s Student of the Year (Rs 7.50 crore) on day 1 at the box office. Obviously, being the second part and with such incredible talent, we expected it to open better. But SOTY 2 is still performing well. We expect it to grow over the weekend, despite mixed reviews, and post a decent total at the box office. What do you have to say about the movie?
