Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike is all set to enter the Rs 200 crore club at the domestic box office. The film, which released on January 11, is currently ruling the ticket windows and how! Despite getting normal reviews from critics, Uri has managed to fare exceptionally well, not just in India, but overseas too. In fact, at the worldwide box office, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer is slowly heading towards the Rs 300 crore mark, which is phenomenal considering the film has been made on a budget of Rs 25 – 30 crore.

Coming back to the Indian box office, Uri has earned Rs 197.88 crore so far. After a fantastic fourth weekend, the movie has had a steady fourth week, raking in more than Rs 2 crore on each day. And with Uri: The Surgical Strike set to add more than Rs 2 crore once again on day 28, we are it will breach the Rs 200 crore barrier tomorrow (February 07). It will make the Aditya Dhar-directorial the first mid-budget film to achieve this feat. Huge, isn’t it? The josh is most certainly high! And Vicky must be on cloud nine as Uri gave him his first Rs 100 crore and Rs 200 crore movie.

Though Kangana Ranaut’s ambitious project Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi currently running in theatres along with Sonam Kapoor’s unusual love story Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, they haven’t really affected Uri’s business at the box office. In fact, it’s the other way round. Both Manikarnika and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga are finding it tough to survive because of Uri: The Surgical Strike’s fantastic run at the box office. Anyway, stay tuned to Cine Blitz for more Uri updates.
