It’s Monday (July 22) and we are excited to start off the week. Why? Well, we have two interesting films coming out this Friday (July 26). And the best part is both of them are quite different and have interesting plots. So which films are we talking about? Well, the movies this week are Arjun Patiala and Judgementall Hai Kya. While Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon, Varun Sharma’s Arjun Patiala is a romantic, action, comedy; Rajkummar Rao’s Judgementall Hai Kya is a comic thriller. Both look set to intrigue the audiences, and here’s what you can expect from them:

# Arjun Patiala

Director: Rohit Jugraj

Cast: Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon, Varun Sharma, Sunny Leone

Plot:

Arjun Patiala (Diljit Dosanjh) has spent most of his early life disciplining himself in Judo. He joins the police and decides it’s time to take it easy. He and his loyal confidant and best friend – Onida Singh (Varun Sharma) work towards reducing the crime rate in the city. The surprising part is that Arjun Patiala’s tricks are not always legal. They are quirky, original, unusual and less-spoken about. The police officer is fond of women, and fonder of his drinks. However, everything changes when Arjun falls in love with a news reporter – Ritu Randhawa (Kriti Sanon). What follows is a laugh riot! But what will happen when Ritu comes to know about Arjun’s ways? Will she expose him? And what trouble will the police officer run into with the goons? That’s something we all have to see in the movie!

Trailer:

What to look forward to?

Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Sharma’s quirky characters and their bromance looks promising! Kriti Sanon plays a reporter again after playing one in Luka Chuppi and we are in love with her character and charm. Kriti and Diljit’s chemistry is also crackling, but it will be Varun’s comic timing that is expected to make you ROFL the most.

Area of concern?

The execution of the story and its flow can be a concern. A few jokes are falling flat in the trailer itself and the over-acting element might hamper the audience experience too. The end also should be quite entertaining and impactful or else, the film might not appeal to people.

Verdict:

Though Arjun Patiala has a quirky and intriguing plot, the execution and content will decide the outcome. With entertaining stars like Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma, the movie can surely be a time pass watch for the weekend, especially for the families.

# Judgementall Hai Kya

Director: Prakash Kovelamudi

Cast: Rajkummar Rao, Amyra Dastur

Plot:

Bobby (Kangana Ranaut) is a complex and a crazy woman who loves to dress and act like Bollywood actors. Keshav (Rajkummar Rao), on the other hand, is a normal guy with a normal job and a hot girlfriend (Amyra Dastur). And when the two cross paths, Bobby gets obsessed with Keshav. However, a game of cat and mouse ensues after a murder. Bobby and Keshav put the blame on each other and indulge in a battle of one upmanship. Will the police be able to uncover the whole story of lies, betrayal, deceit, love and lust? Well, we’ll have to watch the movie to know this!

Trailer:

What to look forward to?

With a stellar actor like Rajkummar Rao, this one will surely be performance-heavy. His sizzling chemistry with Amyra Dastur will also be at display and we can’t wait to watch the sparks fly. The mind games, the thrill, the cat and mouse game are expected to make you sit on the edge of your seats. And we are promised of some great music too!

Area of concern?

The back and forth in shooting as well as editing is a concern. We wish that the execution and screenplay is not affected by this! Also sometimes thriller and cat and mouse games can be stretched, we hope this does not turn to be an issue with this one.

Verdict:

Judgementall Hai Kya looks fantastic till the trailer stage. It has the comedy, the thrill and the actors. This one will be an entertaining watch for the youngsters.
