What is the song about?

Rula Diya is a heartbreaking emotional song featuring John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur. It shows how John’s commitment towards his duty as a cop has strained their marriage. It shows flashes of how romantic and happy the couple was once, just after their marriage. But now, they have grown distant. John seems broken and Mrunal’s attempts to make things work aren’t fruitful. The song ends with her deciding to leave their home.

Yays

We start off with the music and we have to say the tune is very soothing. Not too overpowering and not too underwhelming! Ankit Tiwari has managed to strike the perfect tune for it. The lyrics are also beautiful and credit to Prince Dubey. You can surely relate to it, if you have ever been through a heart-break. But the best part is the song isn’t depressing, but soothing.

The visuals are also great, credit to director Nikkhil Advani. It is cut well and shows how John and Mrunal were just after they got married and post the Batla House encounter. The two stars emote well and the stark contrast of emotions is visible in the two phases.

Nays

Some scenes could have been avoided and a few parts do get pretty slow. The scenes are also predictable.

Verdict

The Batla House song Rula Diya is surely a romantic and an emotional song that you will love to hear. The ones who love slow, melancholic tracks will have this on their playlist. The youth as well as the older generation will love this one!
