Not just a kid full of energy, but child artist Akshat Singh is also quite ambitious. Like any other school-going kid, he too has dreams, but unlike many, he has worked on them. Proving many wrong, he has broken the myth that fat people can’t dance. And while he gears up to achieve a lot more, in an exclusive interview with CineBlitz, Akshat also shares his future plans and Bollywood dreams. Read on…

How do you feel after winning a golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent (BGT)?

It is like a dream come true. I am happy to make our country proud; I didn’t expect that at all.

Are you a fan of any of the judges on BGT?

I love Simon Cowell. Even the other judges are fun and full of energy. We danced backstage after I won the golden buzzer.

Did you see all this coming, from doing a dance show in India, to going abroad and making your name?

No, I really thank God for this opportunity. From Dance Bangla Dance to India’s Got Talent then  The Ellen DeGeneres Show and now making India proud at BGT. Now, I am preparing for the Semi Finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

You always say that fat people can dance, you want to make everyone happy, and nothing is impossible. Where is all this coming from at such a young age?

I saw the movie Wanted when I was 4, since then, I started dancing. And when I went to dancing class, many asked me ‘How will you do it?’, but I told my dad that I will show everyone that fat people can dance. I feel, nowadays, people are busy and they want to be rich, but I feel that all work and no play makes us dull. So my motto is that we should be happy and make others happy.

What do you want to do after a few years? Where do you see yourself?

I want to be an international kid. I want to be an icon.  Like Sachin Tendulkar is a legend in Cricket; I want to be a legend in dance and acting. I am also focused on studies, my parents help me study.

What’s your favourite moment from your journey till now?

There have been many, but my mom wanted to go out of India, and the first place I took her was to Los Angeles in the USA, and she was very happy, which made me feel good.

Do you want to work in films?

Yes, I have done films. I did one Russian film, Best Friends, and another one called The Tenant. I will also be doing a Bollywood film called Bawari.
