Earlier in the day, we reported about Navjot Singh Sidhu being fired from The Kapil Sharma Show  following his not-so-pleasant comments on the Pulwama terror attack. Well, the latest update on the same is that actress Archana Puran Singh may end up replacing Sidhu on the popular comedy show which currently airs on the Sony Entertainment Channel. To confirm the news, we got in touch with Archana but it seems nothing is official as of now. However, she has already been on the show as a guest judge and so she does seem like the perfect replacement.

Talking exclusively to us, Archana said, “I shot 2 episodes with Kapil as a guest judge on the 9th and 13th of February. After that, I have had no communication from the team to do anymore episodes.” Well, let’s hope the channel in question quickly finalises everything because Kapil Sharma surely wouldn’t want his show to suffer anymore due to the controversy which started because of the former cricketer-turned-politician and his insensitive remarks over the recent terror attack.

While addressing the media outside Punjab assembly, the 55-year-old had said, “For a handful of people, can you blame an entire nation and can you blame an individual?” This very statement ruffled a lot feathers on social media and soon Sidhu started getting trolled mercilessly on the popular micro blogging site Twitter. In fact, people were so upset on social media that they were the ones who demanded Sidhu’s exit from The Kapil Sharma Show. Though no official statement has been released about him being shown the door by Sony TV, it is very much likely that Sidhu will take a fall before this controversy gets blown even more.
