In this exclusive interview for CINEBLITZ.IN at the Vrindavan Studios where the shooting of the socio mythological serial Brij Ke Mohan is being held, MANUL CHUDASAMA who is playing the role of Radha in the show tells JYOTHI VENKATESH that though she is game to act in films in Hindi as well as Gujarati, she is averse to taking up web series as she is not comfortable to show her skin blatantly.

Are you making your debut with the serial Brij Ke Gopal?

No Sir. I had made my bow in TV serials with the show Ek Tha Rvan Ek Thi Rani. It was a social drama which dealt with the stalking of a young girl by a villainous guy.

Which was your next serial after Ek Tha Ravan Ek Thi Rani?

Tenali was my second serial after Ek Tha Ravan Ek Thi Rani.

Is it your first show for the channel Dangal TV?

Yes. It is my first show for Dangal. I got the show after I auditioned for the part. I play the role of Radha in it. Krishna and Radha are basically incomplete without one another. I feel that I am extremely lucky because everyone loves to watch the chemistry unfolding on the screen between Radha and Krishna.

How tough is it for you to play the role of Radha in the serial Brij Ke Gopal?

It is quite tough for the simple reason that you have to work very hard on learning the language to be spoken on the sets. I have no other alternative but to sit with my script for almost 24 hours. Basically we are required to speak our dialogues in Sanskrit as well as shudh and chaste Hindi.

This is your third serial. Are you working with actors with whom you have never worked before?

Yes. It is my third serial as an actor. In this serial, I am glad that Pankaj Berry with whom I had acted in Tenali is also working with me

How happy are you that you have landed with the part of Radha?

Of course I am overjoyed but more than me it is my parents especially my mother who is delirious with joy that her daughter is playing the role of Radha in the serial Brij Ke Gopal.

How is your bonding with your co-actor Paras who is playing the role of Krishna in the serial?

On the very first day of the shooting of the show, I had to dance with Paras and instantly we both could gel with each other easily. We have a great bonding. For the first time, Paras and I met each other only on the sets. In the beginning though we both were introverts, gradually we were able to succeed in breaking the ice and bonded well with each other.

What are your academic qualifications? Where were you born and brought up?

I was born and brought up in Ahmedabad and hence I know not only Hindi but also English and Gujarati well. I did my degree in Bachelor of Finance

Did you begin your career with modeling before you bagged offers to act in serials?

Yes. I had a sort of tomboyish look when I was in college and did modeling for Vasmol, Subway and Himalay shampoo. It was after I became very popular that I decided to give a thought to acting in TV serial.

Are you open to acting in films as well as web series in the near future?

I am game to act in films in Hindi as well as Gujarati but if you ask me whether I will be comfortable enough to act in web series, all that I will say is a big No because I am not at all comfortable as far as kissing as well as nudity are concerned and if you are acting in a web series you will be certainly required to indulge in these activities. I am not at all comfortable in showing my skin on the screen as an actor.

Which are the directors in your wish list with whom you would live to act?

I feel that every director has something or the other which is great in them and hence I would love to act with each one of them.

After working in the serial, have you learnt more about Radha?

Yes. Every day even as I act in the serial, I get to learn more and more about how and what Radha was as and when I get into my character with effortless ease. I am at home on the sets of the serial at Vrindavan Studios. All of us actors bring lunch from home and have lunch together during the lunch break and there is a great sense of camaraderie amongst all of us.
