Sampat Is More Layered And Disciplined In Aarya 2, Says Vishwajeet Pradhan

Veteran actor Vishwajeet Pradhan, who played the role of Sampat in Aarya Season 1, is back in a slightly more polished and disciplined avatar in the second season. The Emmy nominated web-series is created by Ram Madhvani, who also directed the series, alongwith Vinod Rawat and Kapil Sharma serving as the Co-Directors. The series starring Sushmita Sen as Aarya, is based on the Dutch drama series Penoza. The series is about Aarya, an independent woman who seeks to protect her family and becomes a mafiosi to revenge her husband’s murder.

Interacting with media about the series and reprising his role of Sampat, actor Vishwajeet Pradhan said, “In the first season Sampat was a typical desi guy, someone from Rajasthan-Haryana belt, but in the second season he is inspired by his guru, Udayveer Shekhwat(Akash Khurana) who has come from Germany. In order to impress him, in his own desi way (Idiots guide to being German) he tries to be a little more polished & disciplined. German stickers ,labels on jackets, breeches etc , dirty blonde colored hair (tiktok inspired)”.

“Earlier, characters in films used to be either black or white, good or pure evil, but nowadays almost all  characters are grey. Sampat is basically a Villain, a criminal, he hates Aarya but at the same time he has a conscience, feelings as well. Especially towards Aarya’s daughter Aru. On discovering that she has overdosed on drugs supplied by him , he feels guilty, takes her to the hospital, saves her life & never mentions it to anybody…Neki kar, kuen me daal,” added Pradhan about his character.

Despite being laced with blood and gore, actor Vishwajeet Pradhan believes that the show still maintains dignity and doesn’t venture into vulgarity. He said, “Even though the series has crime, drugs, and all sorts of bad elements, it is still a clean web series which can be watched with family . The makers have successfully kept the story from venturing into vulgarity. It is a family drama, and it remains that way”. The series also stars Sikander Kher , Ankur Bhatia, Vikas Kumar along with many others. The second season is streaming on Disney plus Hotstar.
