World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on April 7. Lovepantii actor Sunidee Chauhan feels that the world needs to heal and that too in unison. “Nowadays a lot of diseases are coming and every other person complains of having some or the other problem. So it’s now more important to take care of our health at the right time to avoid repercussions later. Yoga, I think, is the best therapy to avoid long-term problems. Having a proper day-to-day scheduled meal and regular exercise help. Taking a good sleep and avoiding staying up late is also necessary. Going to the gym is also one option. Dance or Zumba are also other ways to stay fit,” she says.

Health is not limited to physical well-being but mental health is equally too. “If we are not mentally happy or something is bothering us, our health gets affected. For that, I guess meditation is the best therapy,” she adds. In our fast-paced life, and erratic work schedules, one’s health goes for a toss. “It gets difficult to manage our shoot schedules at times and it does affect our health— the timings are odd, improper food and not getting a good amount of sleep. But somehow I try to manage things and maintain proper time for everything. We get our day-offs in between. Waking up early in the morning, drinking a glass of lukewarm water and doing a few minutes of yoga or any other exercise is the routine I follow. Drinking coconut water, eating fruits and then after pack-up going straight home and sleeping have been my ways to stay healthy,” the actor shares her routine.

Being a foodie, Sunidee never followed a diet in her life. She only makes sure to eat on time and eat healthy. And, she has her cheat days too. Though the saying ‘Health is wealth’ is quite old, the pandemic made us understand it better. “The crisis taught us a lot of things. I think apart from its disadvantages, it has been advantageous in certain aspects which include taking our lives seriously like eating healthy, exercising, drinking enough water and maintaining a proper sleep. These lifestyle changes were much required,” she adds.

Naming two things she follows and two things she avoids for health reasons, Sunidee reveals, “I drink a glass of lukewarm water every morning on an empty stomach and drink coconut water, and eat my fruits during the daytime. What I avoid is junk food, and indulge in them only once in 15 days to pamper myself. And, the second thing is, no late-night outings for me.”
