Wendell Rodricks unimpressed with Deepika Padukone’s Met Gala 2019 look, but doesn’t blame her!

The first Monday of May was one big day for the fashion nazis. Yes, it was the Met Gala 2019 and the theme this year was CAMP: Note on Fashion. Fashion exposure from all over the world happened at the red-carpet with people dressed in their interpretations. The Indian celebs present there were Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Isha Ambani. While PeeCee’s look got a thumbs from many, designer Wendell Rodricks was not very happy with Deepika’s look.

Deepika’s Barbie doll avatar surely turned many heads, but it didn’t manage to impress Indian designer Wendell Rodricks. In an exclusive conversation with us Wendell said, “I would say it is not Deepika’s fault, these celebrities sometimes rely on their stylists and the stylists goof up with them. Of Course Deepika’s gown was beautiful and she did look beautiful but it was more of a red carpet outfit than camp. Actually people didn’t understand the theme well and I blame Anna Wintour for this. She herself didn’t dress-up according to the theme and by saying Karl Lagerfield made this gown for me, she took things on another tangent. Why did Anna throw a party if she didn’t want to dress like it?”
