Just a few days back, the trailer of Mere Pyare Prime Minister was released on the web and it instantly struck a chord with everyone who watched it. Even I found the trailer very endearing and promising. And now the makers have dropped the first song from their film and it’s the title track. Sung by Arijit Singh and composed by musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the title track of Mere Pyare Prime Minister is as good as the trailer if not more. I know technically a trailer cannot be compared to a song but what I mean is that I felt the same emotions hearing the song, which I did while watching the trailer.
Visually, the song is beautiful because it’s almost a replica of the trailer. The four kids are an absolute treat to watch even though there is hardly anything new in the video. But still, I had a huge smile on my face throughout watching the song video. Coming to the song itself, the lyrics by Gulzar are bang on keeping in mind the theme of the film. Arijit Singh, as always, is impressive with his vocals and his voice has never failed to charm me. But I have to admit, for me, it was the background music of this number that really did the trick. It’s peppy, it’s fun and so addictive that’s already stuck in my mind.
So brownie points to Shankar, Eshaan and Loy for making the title track so lively and lovely at the same time with their music. So go hear the song if you haven’t already and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. In the meantime, after an impressive trailer and a song, I am certainly rooting for this film which is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and will hit the theatres on March 15.
