The first song from Tigmanshu Dhulia’s much-awaited film Milan Talkies is finally out and it’s titled Bakaiti. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Benny Dayal, the song definitely captures the vibe of the film and lets us know what’s in store for us. Bakaiti is a nice, catchy number and has already stuck in my head after hearing it a few times. Well, that’s good news for the composers of the film I guess. The lyrics and the music both give out a very North Indian feel which is hardly surprising because it’s a Tigmashu Dhulia film.

Simmering through the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh, the video picturization is the perfect blend of the rugged lyrics with the North Indian desi swag. Having said that, Bakaiti may not appeal to the urban masses, however, it looks like the catchy number will be a rage in the Northern part of India and could potentially become an anthem for the youngsters there. Ali Fazal, who got rave reviews for his stint on the Amazon Prime hit show Mirzapur, is basically seen in the video along with his friends trying to shoot a rookie film. Apart from that, the video doesn’t give away much which is good because it’s always better to have some mystery around the film before it releases.

After a 6-year-long hiatus, filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia is back and that’s good enough reason for us to get excited about his directorial venture Milan Talkies. Apart from Ali Fazal, the film also stars Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath in the lead. The movie, in a nutshell, is about a struggler who wants to become the biggest filmmaker in India. His life pretty much revolves around movies and he also falls in love in a very filmy style. After much delay, Milan Talkies is set to release on March 15. What are your thoughts on this?
