4 times deepika rocked the festival of holi

Holi is the festival of colours and a celebration that blends the world in just one colour, that’s the colour of happiness. India is a country that is rich in terms of heritage and culture with numerous festivals and celebrations that bring joy to the masses. The Indian film industry has been obsessed with featuring festivals in movies and Holi is one of the most-loved festivals of Bollywood. Deepika Padukone is someone who has shown different shades of Holi in her films, in the last 6 years. From chirpy to poise, to girl-next-door, to seductive, she’s ruled our hearts with all her roles. As we at CineBlitz celebrate Holi today, let’s revisit the movies in which Deepika rocked the festival and gave us songs to dance to, while being dazzled by her beauty.

Balam Pichkari – (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani)

Deepika and Ranbir Kapoor with their onscreen chemistry, have already made their mark and there’s no denying it. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is one of the most loved movies starring this ex-couple. The song Balam Pichkari was shot with Ranbir and Deepika, dancing away to glory, while on a vacation. She played an introvert in this movie, who opens up during this Holi number.

Lahu Munh Lag Gaya – (Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela)

This was the first collaboration between the maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika. This was Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s first movie together and the beginning of their budding romance in real life. The song Lahu Munh Lag Gaya is the most sensually celebrated Holi song ever in the history of Bollywood. SLB is known for his accurate portrayal of culture and heritage. The song shows aptly how Gujarat celebrates Holi with colours and Raas (a dance form similar to garba). Deepika and Ranveer’s chemistry in this song is beyond words!

Mohe Rang Do Laal – (Bajirao Mastani)

In her second collaboration with Bhansali, Deepika aced one of the toughest routines of her life, and she’s admitted this on record too. The song was none other than Mohe Rang Do Laal, choreographed by Birju Maharaj. Deepika slayed with her looks in this one, and there’s no doubt about that! Well, this was the second time that SLB showed a different Holi tradition and we loved it!

Holi – (Padmaavat)

The Manganiyar and Langa’s folk song has an inherent Holi vibe to it. And when Deepika decked up in her all golden attire grooved to this number, the song epitomized grace and elegance. Showing us the Mewari style of celebrating Holi, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika made their way directly into our hearts with this one. Richa Sharma’s voice is something that one can listen to on loop. Marking the fourth Holi song, Deepika totally owns the festival of colours, and we aren’t complaining.
