After a long search, Mira Nair has finally found ‘A Suitable Boy’ as a lead for her BBC series adaptation of Vikram Seth’s novel A Suitable Boy. The actor playing the lead role is none other than late actor Vinod Khanna’s son Sakshi Khanna, who made his debut in the industry with Teen Aur Aadha in 2017.

Mira seemed very excited talking about the movie as she got a chance to go back to one of her favourite novels which she had been waiting to buy the making rights since the release of the book in 1994. She also created her own ‘microscopic response to the huge epic’ with Monsoon Wedding in 2001, starring actors Naseeruddin Shah, Lillete Dubey and Shefali Shah. The film went on to win various international awards at many film festivals including the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival.

Our team tried to get in touch with Sakshi’s mother Kavita Khanna, who refused to say anything about Sakshi’s casting as the makers will be announcing the news. The web-series, A Suitable Boy, will be six-one hour long episodes long and will be majorly shot in Delhi and other locations of North India.
