We had heard that Aamir Khan and Netflix were all set to collaborate for the first time on a mega project. The superstar was going to play controversial spiritual guru Osho in a Netflix original. The film was supposed to be directed by Shakun Batra and all the things were in place. In fact, the talks were in an advanced stage and only the fees was supposed to be finalised. We had heard that casting was also in full swing, but all of this has come to a grinding halt. Why? Well, it’s because of Aamir Khan’s fees.

Yes, Aamir Khan has quoted a very high asking price. And the OTT platform feels it is too much. As a source revealed to us exclusively, “Netflix was keen on Aamir Khan playing Osho. The actor was also excited about the part. But they’ve not been able to agree on the fees. While Aamir has quoted a huge sum, the top heads at Netflix feel it’s too much, especially after the Thugs of Hindostan fiasco. With the superstar not willing to take a cut in his fees, the makers have decided to put the project on hold till further notice.” We wonder if a new actor will be cast? Or will Aamir finally agree for a pay cut?

In the meamtime, let us tell you that a Netflix original on the life of Osho – Wild Wild Country already exists, but they wanted an Indian superstar to play the controversial guru.
