Actor Aamir Khan is currently shooting the final schedule of his highly anticipated upcoming project ‘Laal Singh Chadha’ in Ladakh. He has been accompanied by his estranged wife Kiran Rao and Naga Chaitanya on the set of the shoot as a picture of the trio from the location recently went viral on social media.

Now, the team of the film has landed into soup after a social media user brought to light the polluting and littering of the scenic place. The Twitter user with the handle name Jigmat Ladakhi, captured and shared a video with the caption, “This is the gift Bollywood star Amir Khan’s upcoming movie Lal Singh Chada has left for the villagers of Wakha in Ladakh. Amir Khan himself talks big about environmental cleanliness at Satyamev Jayate but this is what happens when it comes to himself.’ Expressing his anger and disappointment, he further wrote, ‘This is the kind of havoc the crew is creating with the undisturbed environment. Wake up so called Bollywood stars!! Seems these people lost their civic senses!!’

The video showed discarded plastic water bottles scattered around the location, which Ladakhi claimed was the filming location. As the video clip went viral on social media, it received a backlash from the netizens who strongly criticised Aamir and his upcoming film’s team. One Twitter user wrote, “We want your movie to be a blockbuster. But in Ladakh the air density is really high that it takes the garbage everywhere. And we can’t stop it. And Ladakh being a sensitive area I’m requesting the team to take these steps now not at the end before it gets scattered everywhere’. While on the other hand, others demanded stringent action against the actor and the team.

Following this, the team posted a statement on the official Twitter handle of Aamir Khan Productions denying the allegations levelled against them and wrote that the filming locations can be verified by the local authorities.

“We believe that there are some rumours/allegations about our location not being kept clean. We strongly deny such claims. Our location is always open to relevant local authorities to carry out checks anytime that they like,” the note read.

In the statement, the production house also stressed on the fact that its team follows “strict protocols” for cleanliness in and around the shooting spaces, “We have a team which makes sure that the location is kept trash-free at all times. At the end of the day there is a re-check of the entire location. At the end of the entire schedule, we make sure that when we leave a location, we leave it as clean, or cleaner than we found it,” the statement read.

The official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks’ 1994 blockbuster ‘Forrest Gump’, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh.
