Aamir Khan’s films like PK, Dangal and Secret Superstar garnered a lot of love amongst the audience in India, and even the Chinese audience praised Aamir’s work to a great extent. Now, the buzz is that his 2007 release Taare Zameen Par, which also marked Mr Perfectionist’s directorial debut, will be remade in the Chinese language as well.
According to a tabloid report, because the film rides on universal emotions, a collective decision of remaking it with a local star cast from China was taken recently. Directed by Ma Duo, the project is currently in the pre-production stage. Adding to the missing pieces of this puzzle, Aamir recently met Chinese superstar Deng Chao, and we think he might be a part of the film too.

For those of you who don’t know, the Darsheel Safari-starrer Taare Zameen Par was amongst the nine Indian films to be premiered with English subtitles in China, to mark the 60th anniversary of Indo-China diplomatic ties in 2010. But it was never officially released in China. It is also one of the most pirated films playing in China. There was an effort to release the film in China with Mandarin subtitles like the other films. But China does not permit the release of foreign films that are older than two years and so that couldn’t be done. Looks like they will get to see the film in its remade Chinese version directly.
