Actor Dinesh Phadnis, who is known for playing the role of Fredericks in one of television’s most popular show CID, took his last breath on Tuesday. The actor passed away at the age of 57 due to multi-organ failure. The world of television and his fans are mourning the demise of the actor and, recently, actor Vikas Kumar, who played the role of senior inspector Rajat in CID, mourned his demise and penned a heartfelt note for his co-actor.
Vikas honored his on-screen performance and called him the most loved character in CID, through a social media post.
He took to Instagram and shared a picture of the late actor and penned down his feelings in the captions. “I was not in touch with him for the longest time. ‘Freddy sir’…how the audience knew him, and how most of us at CID addressed him, was a simple soul and had a unique sense of humour. On screen, while he was funny, he also, very gracefully, allowed himself to be made fun of and was perhaps the most loved character in CID,” he wrote.
Vikas further penned, “Contrary to his ‘funny guy’ image, we’ve had some very serious and meaningful conversations in the green room…conversations about acting, about life. I also found him to be protective of us, the younger lot. His passing reiterates the biggest truth…that we all have to go one day…but while we are here, perhaps we can try and bring a smile to as many faces…just the way Freddy sir did. My heartfelt condolences to his family. May God give them strength to cope with this extreme loss.”
Professionally, Vikas Kumar is currently in buzz for his performance in the Hotstar series- Aarya 3. Apart from this, the actor is known for his performances as ACP Khan in the International Emmy Awards nominated Aarya, senior inspector Rajat in CID, Abhay in Hamid, Major Prem in Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, YRF TV’s Khotey Sikkey and for his work as dialogue coach in Hindi films like Ishqiya, Shakuntala Devi and Udaan.
