Aditya Pancholi rape case: The actor gets interim bail till July 19

Aditya Pancholi came into the limelight when his name surfaced with connection to a rape case. An FIR was filed against the actor-producer on June 27 by a 36-year-old Bollywood actress for an incident that occurred 10 years ago. The police registered a case under IPC section 376 at the same time but said that due to the lack of evidence, the case might be very weak. Now looks like no evidence has been found in the case and Pancholi has received an anticipatory bail in the rape case.

Today (July 2), Pancholi was granted bail till July 19 by the Dindoshi Sessions Court in Mumbai. Pancholi had filed a plea for anticipatory bail the next day itself and was granted interim relief then itself. In his application, the actor stated that the allegations have been made purely with the intention to defame him. He also questioned why the case against him was filed now when the incident took place 10 years back.
