Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn roped in for RRR

Bahubali director SS Rajamouli’s next RRR is touted to be one of the biggest films under production. Starring Junior NTR and Ram Charan, the film is being made on a budget of Rs 300 crores. While the film found its male leads in these South superstars, everyone was waiting to find out its leading lady. There were speculations of Parineeti Chopra coming on board, however, the actress shunned the rumours immediately. Alia Bhatt was also approached by the director, who was ready to adjust with anything possible to get the Raazi actor on board. Well, the good news is that Alia has finally joined the team of RRR. Not just her, but Ajay Devgn has also been added to the list of actors for the film.

The team of RRR welcomed the two actors with a post which said, “Welcome Aboard.” Rajamouli, who is scripting and directing the film even held a press meet today (March 14) and announced the title, the release date and the details of the cast and crew. The first schedule of the film has already been shot and the makers are busy wrapping up the second schedule of the film. Ajay will play a pivotal role in the film, while Alia will be one of the leading ladies. Talking about her South debut with RRR, Alia said in a statement, “Working with Rajamouli sir is a big big tick off my bucket list.. also to be alongside Ram Charan and Jr. NTR is an absolute honour. I am very excited about this experience and also working in the south for the first time. I begin shooting in less than a month.. I will be playing the role of Sita, and the film is set in 1920s backdrop.” Check out the post right here:

Set in the 1920s, the film will revolve around two freedom fighters. It will show a fictitious story of two soldiers who stay away from home and fight for the country. The film is slated to release on July 30, 2020 and will release in 10 India languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.
