Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal gets 5 cuts; cuss and objectionable words muted

Ajay Devgn starrer adventure comedy Total Dhamaal is finally arriving in the theatres on Friday, February 22. Also featuring Madhuri Dixit Nene, Anil Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Esha Gupta, the film is the third part in the Dhamaal series which is successful comic franchise. As per the latest update, the Central Board of Film Certification has passed Total Dhamaal with a U certificate along with five cuts and a few mutes. The multi-starrer film, which is co-produced by Devgn and Kumar, will also have an additional disclaimer for anti-dowry.

The board has asked the makers to mute words like haraami, pichwade and material kya hota hai in the film. Apart from that, the CBFC has even removed a word as it sounded abusive. Indra Kumar and his team have accepted the board’s decision and will make the changes accordingly. Gully Boy, which released last week, was also a victim of sensor board. Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar was asked to trim down a kissing scene between Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt by 13 seconds. In addition to that, the makers of Gully Boy also had to remove few cuss words from their film.

Anyway, coming back to Total Dhamaal, the adventure comedy has managed to create good buzz before its release. The trailer of the film, which was released last month, garnered positive reviews on social media. Even the songs from the film have become quite popular especially the two remixed numbers – Paisa Yeh Paisa and Mungda. Since the film is more of a family entertainer, it will does look promising and will indeed draw the audience to the cinema halls.
