Boney Kapoor marks his production debut in the Tamil film industry with Pink’s Tamil remake Nerkonda Paarvai. Toplined by South star Ajith Kumar, the film also marks Vidya Balan’s debut in a Tamil film. Besides Ajith and Vidya, the film being directed by H Vinoth (of Theeran fame) also stars Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang. While Shraddha had recently made her Bollywood debut with Milan Talkies, Andrea will be the only actor to reprise her role in the Tamil rendition of Pink. The film went on the floors in mid-February with the initial schedules shot in Ramoji Studios, Hyderabad.
Now, CineBlitz has exclusively learnt that the film is moving as per schedule and has got a release date in order. Our source exclusively reveals that Nerkonda Paarvai has been slated to release on August 9 this year (2019). “The film is proceeding as per schedule. The shooting is going on at a good pace and we will release the film on August 9,” says the source. The poster of the film featuring Ajith alongwith the three women leads – Shraddha, Andrea and Abhirami – was also released earlier this month.
For those who are not aware, Nerkonda Paarvai is being produced by Boney Kapoor and it is a remake of Shoojit Sircar’s Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury-directed Pink (2016). The original film starred Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan. In the remake, Ajith is reprising Bachchan’s role of a lawyer. Vidya will play a pivotal role in the film. Interestingly, it was late actress Sridevi’s wish that they cast Ajith Kumar in one of their South productions. For more such updates and Bollywood news, stay tuned to CineBlitz.
