Gully Boy has already made lot of noise around with its rap songs and the feel of the film. The film talks about the life of street rappers and focuses on one boy who is a street rapper, and the difficulties in his life. Ranveer Singh is playing the character of the street rapper, and Alia Bhatt is his love interest Safeena. But Alia believes that it’s not just a love interest, but also a major part of his life. The Highway actress feels she is a strong Mumbaikar in her heart, and is also comfortable saying that.

When asked how similar Alia and Safeena are, she explained, “No, we are not, and I have a need to be right and good in my head all the time. It’s very irritating, I sometimes wish I could be bad. But I can’t be like that because I feel guilty then, and I want people to like me. I am very short-tempered, and I say whatever I feel and get away with it, whereas Safeena is a very high-tempered person and that I have never experienced in my life.” Alia feels that  they both are short tempered but whilst Safeena is always angry and reacts, Alia herself gets angry but forgets about it and puts aside her anger very quickly.

She further shared that she had an amazing time playing this tapori character as she felt that she did have that side to her. It looks like Alia enjoyed playing this character and would like to incorporate some of her character’s qualities in her, but at the same time, feels it won’t be good to be like that as a person. Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and is slated to hit the theaters on February 14.
