There have been several cases in the past wherein the names of known filmmakers were used by fake casting agencies. This time it’s filmmaker Anubhav Sinha who found out that his name was being misused by one such fake agency. After Anubhav found out about it, he informed the police and he was advised to file a case against the agency for misusing his name. The filmmaker also took to Twitter sharing this and later he was advised to report this issue to the cyber cell office.
When DCP Manjunath Singe (Mumbai police spokesperson) was asked about it, he said that when they got the filmmaker’s tweet, they told him to go to the nearest police station to file a formal complaint, but he hasn’t done it yet. Accoding to the tweet and the image posted by Anubhav, the fake casting was happening for a Netflix web series under his name. When the filmmaker got to know of it, he said on his social media, “This email id ([email protected]) has been sending emails to aspiring actors for over a month claiming to be representing me. Please look in to this. I have nothing to do with this person or project.” However, Anubhav Sinha is yet to lodge a formal complaint.

Anubhav Sinha has directed and produced films like Tum Bin, Ra.One, Gulaab Gang, Dus and Mulk. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates on this front.
