Present at the launch of Nexa music were CEO of Qyuki Media Deogital, Samir Bangara, AR Rahman and Clinton Cerejo. Along with them were music artists like Nikhil D’souza, Anusha Manchanda and Uday Benegal, who will be also creating their own original tracks. This initiative is for Indian musicians to get a platform to create their original compositions and to participate. They specifically are about creating international compositions of global standards and there will be a total of 32 new tracks created by the selected artists.

With the new artists, A R Rahman and his team of other artists will be creating four original international tracks.  Samir Bangara revealed that the selection process would consist of a jury which would decide, and there would further be twelve live gigs happening across India to promote the artist. This is a good opportunity for all individual artists who think that there is no music apart from Bollywood; this is where they can find their originality and put in their creativity.

Asked about why Indian artists find more scope for their music abroad than here, A R Rahman replied that it’s not just western music that had benchmarks, even Indian music has its benchmark. He said, “When I was young, I used to think of it as all the same, but that’s not true. It’s just about the inclination towards the art and what sort of composition should be made. If we make such songs here in India, then the minds of the Indian people will open up towards it,  and films will take such music from us.”

For the participants to join and try their luck they can log on to www.nexamusic.com and submit their video to be part of the team. Further going the culture of individual artists can bring in new trends of music.
