Arjun Kapoor training for horse-riding

Calling it the biggest and the toughest film of his career, Arjun Kapoor has been gearing up for what he believes is also one of the most challenging roles of his career. The actor is busy prepping up for his intense role in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat. The film is based on the Third Battle of Panipat in which Afghan forces led by Ahmed Shah Abdali defeated the Marathas in 1761. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Abdali in the film. Taking his role as Peshwa Sadashivrao Bhau rather seriously, Arjun has spent almost a month learning and perfecting his horse-riding skills for the historical.

The actor shared a photo of himself on a horse at Mumbai’s Mahalakshmi Race Course where he has been regularly training, with a caption that read: “New year, new learnings… so the last whole month of 2018 went in enjoying the company of an Animal, Mother Nature & Sunrises… as I gear up to restart shooting for Panipat I feel privileged to be able to learn this beautiful art of becoming one with this most glorious animal. The process of learning has been therapeutic & empowering at the same time. Can’t wait to get back on set with this new childlike excitement for what is my toughest & biggest film yet. PS – Thank you to my teachers at the Race course for bearing with me along the way. @agppl @kritisanon @duttsanjay #panipatprep #panipat #horsewhisperer #horsingaround  #newlearnings #201 #happynewyear #sadashivraobhau.”

Arjun has had a tough time at the box office in recent years. Although the actor did not have any big release in 2018, he is surely hoping to make up for it in this year. Besides Panipat, he also has Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar opposite Parineeti Chopra and Raj Kumar Gupta’s India’s Most Wanted, whose first look was revealed recently. But it’s Panipat which he is expending a lot of efforts on, including going bald to essay the character of the Peshwa. What do you think of Arjun playing this role? Post in the comments below.
