Actor Skand Thakur opens up about his journey and the distinct challenges he faced while preparing for his roles in Article 370 and his next Khalbali Records.

Skand first caught the attention of Khalbali Records director Devanshu with his performance in Feel Like Ishq with Tanya Maniktala. He went through multiple rounds of auditions before finally securing the role. Skand recalls, “I went to his office, met him, and then we had multiple rounds of auditions. Finally, I bagged the show.” This role presented an exciting opportunity to delve into a character that operates within the music industry, offering a new challenge for him to explore.

The preparations for the respective movies required him to engage in entirely different forms of training and research. “The prep for both projects was entirely different. For Article 370- It was more physical, we had weapon safety training, hand-to-hand combat, and a lot of physical fitness was involved.”

In stark contrast, his role in Khalbali Records required him to immerse himself in the music industry to convincingly portray a music label owner. He spent a significant amount of time with Mo Joshi, the owner of Azadi Records, to understand the nuances of the industry. “I had to learn the ways of the music industry, mainly the relationship between the label owner and the artists,” he notes.

Skand’s debut on the big screen with Article 370 represents a pivotal moment in his career. “Article 370 is my first theatrical release, and it was a very, very big milestone in my life,” he says with pride. The film gave him an “introducing” credit, a significant acknowledgment for a newcomer. “I’ve been getting so much love for my performance from a lot of people. A few big names reached out to me with praises for my work. It gave me a lot of motivation.” His friends and family, who witnessed his dedication and effort firsthand, are equally proud of his achievements. This debut has opened new doors and set the stage for future opportunities.

While the actor remains tight-lipped about the exact release date of Khalbali Records, he assures that it will be worth the wait. The series, which revolves around the music industry, features a plethora of songs and performances by well-known artists. “There are really big names who are performing for the show. Some have given us songs, and some are featured in the show. There’s so much music produced for the show already 20+ songs,” he shares. The music will be released on all platforms alongside the show, and he is confident that it will make a significant impact in the industry.
