Ayushmann’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan to clash with Kartik’s Aaj Kal and Aditya’s Malang

After the huge critical and box office success of the first film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, leading to award nominations for both, producer Aanand L Rai is back with its sequel. The teaser of the upcoming rom-com Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan was released today (May 09) and it stars Ayushmann in his first gay role. However, the film won’t be a solo release as it will be clashing at the box office with two other major upcoming romantic films: Love Aaj Kal 2 starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan and Malang starring Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur. Both the films have been gaining quite a bit of traction in the media and are touted to be huge at the box office.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan will definitely be ground-breaking for the LGBTQ community, as according to the teaser, the film promises not to follow the cookie cutter heterosexual love stories so far portrayed in the Hindi film industry. The plot details and the cast of the film are yet to be disclosed. However, it has been written and directed by Hitesh Kewalya while the music and lyrics are by Tanishk-Vayu.
