Sathyaraj aka Kattappa of the blockbuster Baahubali and its equally successful sequel fame has been signed on for yet another biggie. Buzz is that the actor has been approached for a Mani Ratnam film. According to reports, the film Ponniyin Selvan will be a mega multi-starrer for which Sathyaraj has been approached to play Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar (treasurer) which is one of the powerful roles in Chola kingdom.
Buzz is that South star Mohan Babu was also approached to play the same role, but now he has bagged another role in the same film. Rumours doing the rounds also suggest that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing princess Nandhini, who will be later married to Periya (Sathyaraj). Well, that would be interesting to watch.
Apart from them, even Amitabh Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Chiyaan Vikram, and Karthi are rumoured to be part of the film. Ponniyin Selvan is based on the historical novel penned by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It is widely considered as one of the greatest novels written in Tamil.
