After amazing everyone with his performance in Andhadhun, Ayushmann Khurrana is now all set to treat his fans with his next offering Bala, an offbeat subject of a man facing premature balding. But even before the team could start shooting, the film ran into trouble. In March, assistant director Kamal Kant Chandra filed a case against the team of Bala including Aysuhamann, director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan for allegedly plagiarising the story. He then filed a criminal complaint under Section 420 (cheating) and 406 (breach of trust) for shooting the film without waiting for the court’s verdict. Now, the Andhadhun actor’s legal team has finally opened up on the matter.

In an official statement, the team said, “What has been communicated to you is a malafide distortion of actual facts, especially with regard to the proceedings of 09th April 2019. In fact, Mr Chandra also moved the Bombay High court in vacation (May 29) in this regard and was not granted any relief. In any event, as the matter is sub-judice and since the next date of hearing is June 10, 2019, we are are not commenting any further. In any event, our script is original and we will show that to the court when the matter comes up.” We hope that this matter is resolved soon.

Bala also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more such news and updates.
