Bharat box office collection Day 1: Salman Khan’s film has a blockbuster start with Rs 42.3 crores

Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif-starrer and Ali Abbas Zafar directed Bharat hit the theatres yesterday (June 5) on the occasion of Eid. While it was a risky choice to release a film along with the ICC World Cup, but Salman’s entertainer seems to have overcome the hurdle and is off to a great start. Yes, Bharat’s Day 1 at the box-office went very well, and with the initial business looks like the film will inch to the 100-crore club by its first weekend itself.

On Tuesday (June 4) we told you how film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi predicted that Salman’s film would earn around Rs 35 crore on day 1. Well, it surely passed our predictions and expectations as it when on to rake in Rs 42.3 crores at the box office yesterday (June 5). While many were certain, some were skeptical if the film would kick-start well because it was also India’s World Cup match that the audience had to choose from. But gladly the India versus South Africa cricket match did not affect the business of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s film.

Well, let us tell you that Bharat is surely going to sell many more tickets for the film has gotten good reviews. In fact, our critic Aakanksha Naval-Shetye also termed Bharat as a wholesome family entertainer. There is a strong reason why Salman Khan’s films do very well trade-wise. The film has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Alvira Agnihotri, Atul Agnihotri, Krishan Kumar under the banners of T-Series, Reel Life Productions and Salman Khan Films. Other than Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, the film also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles.
