Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! fame Shilpa Shinde is set to enter politics. The actress joined the Congress party today in the presence of Sanjay Nirupam, President of Mumbai Congress Committee and party leader Charan Singh Sapra. If rumours are to be believed she might contest Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from North Mumbai, but there is no confirmation from the actress as yet. When asked about the reason for getting into politics, Shilpa said, “Like I have always stood for myself and achieved what I wanted, I want to stand for the people and help them.” She feels that Congress is the party that can bring a change and doesn’t discriminate on the grounds of religion or caste. Everyone is welcomed, which is why she chose to enter with Congress. Also, she would like to see Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister of our country.

The 42-year-old actress made her television debut in 1999, and rose to popularity with her role in the daily soap Bhabhi. Shilpa made a mark with her superhit TV serial, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! in which she played the role of Angoori Bhabhi. In 2016 due to some differences with the director, she quit the show and was replaced by Shubhangi Atre. Watch the video below to hear it from Shilpa herself.

She again started making headlines by participating in the reality show Big Boss 11 and turned out to be the winner. Let’s see what her political career turns out to be.
