Breaking News: Not just Salman Khan, even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to reunite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali?

Trade is abuzz with talks that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby Abhishek Bachchan have been signed on by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his production – the Sahir Ludhianvi biopic – that the filmmaker has been keen on making. Trade buzz suggests that the two have been working out their dates to be allocated for the shoot and the other legal and technical formalities are being worked out. According to trade insiders, the pre-production on the film – based on the late poet and film lyricist – is already underway and that the film will be mounted on a huge scale. The news will have the fans of the Bachchan couple excited as they missed out on watching them star together earlier in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun. The duo had backed out of the film earlier this year.

But not just fans of the couple, the news of SLB working with Aishwarya is bound to generate much excitement even in trade as the film will see the actress team up with the filmmaker after nine years. Their last film together was the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Guzaarish (2010). However, this time around the film will not be directed by Bhansali. It may be recalled that Abhishek was already in talks for the film and the leading lady was not zeroed in. A-listers including Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were being considered for the role that has now eventually gone to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

If things work out, then this will be Aishwarya and Abhishek’s fourth film together after Guru, Umra Jaan and Dhoom 2. Co-incidentally, Salman Khan too will be seen reuniting with SLB this year. While he had made a special appearance in Saawariya (2007), his full-fledged role in a SLB film was in 1999Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam that also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
