Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike is killing it. The movie has not only impressed one and all, but it is unstoppable at the box office. Uri has received praise from everyone across the world. Several politicians have also praised the movie, while used dialogues from it in their speeches too. In fact, during a particular speech, PM Narendra Modi had also asked people, “How’s the josh?” But that’s not the end of the praise. Today, during his Budget 2019 speech, Finance Minister Piyush Goyal also applauded Uri.

During his speech, while talking about the film industry, Piyush Goyal mentioned, “I had the opportunity to watch the film recently. Kya josh tha, kya mahaul tha (the energy was fantastic, the atmosphere was great).” Everyone from the BJP camp, including Uri actor Paresh Rawal, started thumping their desk. It was truly a moment to witness. We are sure Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Aditya Dhar, Ronnie Screwvala and team Uri will be on cloud nine today. Apart from talking about the movie, the Finance Minister also made a lot of announcements benefiting the film industry! And we are sure everyone in Bollywood as well as other regional film industries will be happy!

Piyush Goyal confirmed the government’s decision to reduce the Goods and Service Tax (GST) on movie tickets. He revealed that the GST on tickets costing Rs 100 and below will be 12 per cent (it was 18 per cent earlier). Tickets over Rs 100 will have 18 per cent GST (earlier it was 28 per cent). He further announced an anti-camcording provision to combat film piracy. A single window clearance for Indian filmmakers has also been announced!
