In a bid to get a clean release (that is to avoid a clash with any film) at the box office, the makers of Cheat India had preponed its release from January 25 to Januray 18. But as if the controversy around the film’s release date being changed to avoid clash with Thackeray was not enough, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer has now run into some fresh trouble. This time with the Censor Board. Apparently, the makers have been asked to change the title from Cheat India to Why Cheat India. Though we are sure the makers had decided on the same, they have decided to accept this request and change the title of the movie. In fact, they have even released the new poster of Why Cheat India and we have to say it looks interesting.

While we are not sure why the makers of the film were told to change the name, we guess the original title might have suggested that India is a nation which cheats. With all the scams going on, the CBFC might not have wanted such a suggestive title. Also, we are speculating that the message that the movie is trying to give would inspire people not to cheat with this title. What do you think about this change? Directed by Soumik Sen and produced by Ellipsis Entertainment and Emraan Hashmi Films, Why Cheat India is all set to release on January 18, 2019. Revolving around a con man who takes advantage of the education system in India, while providing some opportunity for the rich and poor at the same time, Why Cheat India will be an interesting watch. In the meantime, stay tuned to Cine Blitz as we get you all the updates from the world of Bollywood right here.
