Christopher Nolan to kick off Dimple Kapadia starrer Tenet in Mumbai this September

The highly-acclaimed Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan has cast Dimple Kapadia for an important role in his next film Tenet. Now if reports are to be believed, the director will soon be flying down to India for the film’s first shoot schedule.

Yes, Nolan will be shooting in Mumbai in September this year. Earlier, he was in Mumbai in February and April to recce for the film. It is said that some important parts of the film will be shot at places like Taj Mahal Hotel, Gateway Of India and the Colaba market. A source was quoted saying that Nolan was in Mumbai last year (2018) for an event hosted by Film Heritage Foundation’s Shivendra Singh Dungarpur on the need to promote the use, restoration and preservation of films. During this stay, the director decided to shoot his film in Mumbai.

The source added, “During his four-day stay he decided to shoot here, and in September will most likely be filming in South Mumbai, around the Gateway of India, the Taj Mahal Hotel and the Colaba Market. For the recce, he was accompanied by production designer Nathan Crowley and cinematographer, Hoyte Van Hoytema among other team members with Shivendra helping them scout for locations too.” The shoot will extend to seven-eight days and a major chase sequence will also be filmed.

Along with Dimple Kapadia, the film will star biggies like Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Clemence Poesy. The film is scheduled to release in July 2020. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more such news and updates.
