After the unexpected success of his controversial film The Tashkent Files, director Vivek Agnihotri is all set to helm yet another controversial topic. The director in his next film plans on showing the reality of the Kashmiri Pandits. The film will be titled The Kashmiri files. According to the grapevine, it will be an investigative thriller just like his last. This ensemble film will go on the floors next year.
Talking about the same Agnihotri says, ““I am making a film on Kashmir. It’s called The Kashmiri Files. I have been working on this for quite some time. It’s an investigative thriller about the exodus of Kashmiri pandits. About four lakhs pandits were thrown out on one night and thousands of them were killed and women were raped. That’s the biggest human tragedy since the ethnic cleansing of Jews in World War II.”
According to him the film will have an ensemble cast with some eight to ten actors just like The Tashkent Files. The team is in the research stage and will be done with the pre production by the end of 2019. In all likelihood they’re planning go on floors in March – April 2020.
